Shape and picture tracing worksheets
Pick shapes and simple pictures, and print them as bubble outlines to trace, with a start pin and arrow on every stroke. Show the word next to each picture, or hide it.
Print shape tracingSeven groups to choose from
Shapes: circle, oval, square, rectangle, triangle, diamond, heart and star. Vehicles: car, bus, boat, plane, train and rocket. Garden: flower, tree, sun, mushroom, butterfly and leaf. Toys: ball, kite, balloon, lollipop, present and crown. Animals: fish, cat, duck, turtle and ladybird. Food: apple, pizza, cupcake and cone. Home: house, cup and umbrella.
Pictures with their names
Each picture can print with its name beside it in bubble letters, so children trace the picture and then the word. Turn the names off for a pure shape-tracing sheet.
Pre-writing practice
Tracing circles, squares and triangles builds the pencil control children need before letters. The start pins show where to begin and which way to go round each shape.
